Friday, September 23, 2016

The Township of Madawaska Valley received a rating of 4 Blooms and a special mention for Polish Kashub Heritage Museum/Park/Skansen during the 2016 Communities in Bloom Ontario Provincial Awards hosted by the City of Stratford on September 17th.

In July and August, trained volunteer judges travelled to participating communities to evaluate the overall contributions of municipal council and departments; industry; businesses and the private sector – including volunteer efforts – in regards to the following criteria: Tidiness, Environmental Action, Heritage Conservation, Urban Forestry, Landscape and Floral Displays.

A complete list of the Provincial & National results along with an online copy of the latest Communities in Bloom magazine will be available on our National websitewww.communitiesinbloom.ca following the National Symposium & Awards Ceremony which will be held from October 27th to 29th 2016 in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Within the actual context of climate changes and environmental concerns, communities involved in the program can be proud of their efforts, which provide real and meaningful environmental solutions and benefit all of society.
